Tennerfest Breaks - Now Booking.
The Secret's Out!
Still under wraps, this newsletter is the very first time anything has been “unofficially” said about our exciting plans for 2015 which (if the rumours are true) will see major investment take place to build an extended lounge complete with fire place and panoramic windows, along with a new Bar (yes, completely new) and a new style Restaurant.

No longer in the planning stage, we are now concentrating on the fine detail such as new menus with greater emphasise on Seafood and our wonderful Guernsey produce.

If all goes to plan we will have to close in January and re open late March. This will mark a very exciting phase in the story of the success of Le Friquet Hotel and will improve upon the quality of the experience our Guests have when they visit or stay with us.

Remember, as valued Guests, you heard it here first!!

The Apprentice (Guernsey)
This years Kitchen apprentice was 14 year old Reece Simmons.

He was given the opportunity to experience life away from School and work alongside Head Chef Ian Carre (the slightly shorter one!) in our kitchen. This follows visits by the Schools Liaison Officer and gave Reece a unique insight into how a professional Kitchen operates.

When interviewed after his time here, Reece said it had always been his ambition to become a Chef ever since he started baking cakes with his Grandmother and this has confirmed it’s the right career for him.

We wish Reece every success!

What makes a break so special?
Its not easy to sum up why Guernsey is so well loved, but we thought the letter below which was printed in the local paper “The Guernsey Press” on the 4th June 2014 went a little way to explain what makes us different.

“May I through your newspaper, say what a wonderful weekend my wife and I had on your beautiful Island of Guernsey.

From the staff at Le Friquet Hotel where we stayed, to the cafes and road users, everyone was so polite and friendly.

This even extended to when we were returning to our Hotel having lost our way - a very kind lady stopped and insisted on leading us back to Le Friquet at 11 o’clock at night . . . . we shall return”.

Mr S Palmer. Dorchester.
