Congratulations to James Speers - new General Manager.

Congratulations James - a familiar face with a new role

After seven years as Deputy Manager James Speers - seen above holding our much coveted Tripadvisor Award for Excellence. - is taking over the role of General Manager of Le Friquet Hotel.

Already known, I'm sure, to many of our readers, James' boundless energy and winning smile made him the natural successor to Paul Rowe who is moving on after 16½ years at the helm.

Paul will still remain as Director and we wish them both every success in the future.

New Two Bedroom Suite
Traveling with family or good friends often means staying in two separate bedrooms which is not always ideal.

So with this in mind we have created a large two bedroomed Suite complete with its own separate lounge and fantastic views over the gardens towards the pool. We hope you like it.
Floral Guernsey
Guernsey’s mild maritime climate and early spring keep the Island decorated in colourful flowers for most of the year…and also keep our Gardener Raimonds rather busy!

With warmer temperatures than the UK are created ideal growing conditions. Did you know that Guernsey is the largest producer of Clematis in the World and the source of two thirds of all Freesias sold in the UK.

You can visit Guernsey throughout the year and be surprised at the variety of flowers and plants that grow here. In May look for the Giant Echiums originally from the Canary Islands with spectacular flower spikes reaching 3 meters or more. Or in October the famous Guernsey Lily with its bright pink firework shaped blooms.

Staying at Le Friquet Hotel, we can advise you of places to visit to experience Guernsey’s floral heritage though before you rush off to explore the Island, do take a stroll around our grounds. Look out for the Agapanthus which grow up to four feet high (and are very hard to grow in the UK) and the miniature Guernsey Centuary, its tiny pink petals only open in bright sunlight, so rare it’s not found anywhere else in the British Isles!
