It’s been confirmed! For the second year running Le Friquet has received the “Trip Advisor Award for Excellence” having maintained a top five position out of 46 Hotels in Guernsey.

A Le Friquet Romantic Story
The first thing everyone notices when meeting our Sri Lankan Bar Supervisor is his huge smile, followed closely by the name on his name badge, “Lucky”.
Just five years ago Lucky was caught up in the devastating Tsunami that hit his homeland and forced him to look elsewhere to earn a living.

Fortunately for Lucky (and us!) he came to Le Friquet, where he met, fell in love with and married Diana, another member of the Team. No wonder he can’t stop smiling!
Oh! How Times Change
It has recently come to light that Le Friquet Hotel was formerly the family home of the Rowe family who lived here when it was a thriving farm. Hard to imagine now, but the restaurant used to be a barn complete with its own well in the middle!

Mr Rowe, (a name still in frequent use around here), who continues to live in the Bailiwick, kindly provided the photograph showing the Farm before it became an hotel.
Christmas in August !

New Changes for 2012
Thanks to direct feedback from guest comments we have created a wonderful poolside changing area.

Designed in the style of a log cabin it includes separate male and female change sections and is just a quick hop, skip and jump from the poolside.

The suggestion by Junior Guest: Master J. of Kent that we install a Roller Coaster in the garden is still being considered. Unlike the pool we might suggest not holding your breath.

Potato Peel Pie on the Menu Spring 2013
Following on from our last Newsletter in which we announced that a Hollywood Film of the book "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" was to be made we now have confirmation filming in Guernsey will take place in Spring 2013.

Fox Films have lined up Kenneth Branagh and Kate Winslet to star in it and our Chef Ian Carre has promised Potato Peel Pie will be on the menu when the film is released!
